Click Here for Information regarding the future repairs to the Lake Placid dam. Lake Placid is a beautiful lake located in Guadalupe County between Lake McQueeney and Meadow Lake and is a part of the Guadalupe River chain of lakes managed by the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority (aka GBRA). This constant level lake is slightly smaller than Lake Dunlap and Lake McQueeney with a surface area of 248 acres with a storage capacity of 2,624 acre-feet and a stretch of about 5 miles. Lake Placid is a popular lake for waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake-surfing, fishing, and swimming.  The Lake Placid community has a voluntary homeowners group called Citizens United for Lake Placid (C.U.L.P).  This group helps to be a conduit for communication between the Lake Placid property owners, GBRA, Guadalupe County and local and state law enforcement.

Lake Placid has a very similar feel to Lake Dunlap, however, real estate on this lake is generally more affordable than comparable properties on Lake McQueeney and Lake Dunlap. Lake Placid has a public boat ramp under Interstate 10 which allows easy access to the lake even for homes that are in subdivisions without private ramps.  In addition, lake Placid is home to Son’s Island, a unique private island offering day rental cabanas, glamping, swimming, fishing, kayak rentals and live music.  For additional interest in Lake Placid itself or its various neighborhoods get in contact with us.
