It is a dammed portion of the Guadalupe River and is the self-proclaimed” Water Ski Capital of Texas”. Lake McQueeney is Below Lake Dunlap and above Lake Placid, controlled and managed by the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority (GBRA). GBRA oversees all the lakes along the Guadalupe River. The exception being Canyon Lake which is controlled by the Army Corps of Engineers. The “main lake” has a surface area of 400 acres with a storage capacity of 5,050 acre-feet.
