As of January 2025, we’ve got some exciting updates from the Lake McQueeney Water Control Improvement District No. 1 on the Lake McQueeney Dam Renovation Project. The substantial completion date is now set for Mid-September, 2025, a slight shift due to an increased schedule by Sundt to attempt to get back on schedule after previous delays. In the meantime Friends of Lake McQueeney (“FOLM”) are hard at work along with several neighborhood groups making preparations for the return of our beautiful Lake McQueeney. If you have projects you have been putting off, now is the time to get them done. If you need recommendations for who to call on a project give us a call and we can get you in touch with the right people. We would also suggest getting started on any boat repairs you have been putting off. We are in regular contact with the local shops and they are already getting busy with repairs and upholstery work. Enough about that though, here is the update:

• South Abutment structural concrete foundation widening – completed
• Pier 2 structural concrete foundation widening and downstream extension – ongoing
• Maintenance bridge drilled pier shafts – started
• South Embankment electrical – ongoing
